Weave Care

As wonderful a weave is, proper care and maintenance is mandatory to keep the hair underneath healthy.

A weave can give you the hair you want the most but just because it covers your hair, doesn’t mean you can forget about it. Your scalp and natural hair need necessary stimulation and effort to look their best.

This holiday season, when you’re dashing from one celebration to another, you might end up neglecting your hair. This will eventually start to show in the quality of your weave’s appearance. Make sure that you can get the most out of your weave and flaunt it the way you like by taking care of it.

Here are some tips to help you take care of your lush hair underneath.

Make sure your scalp is prepped

Keep your hair free of excess build-up of dead skin cells and products. Clean it regularly and make sure it’s well-conditioned so that there is no dryness and flakiness.

Oil your scalp regularly

Oiling is the best way to nourish your scalp and massaging it in increases blood flow to the roots.

While weaves made of human hair benefit from oiling as well, doing it too often might damage them.

Massage castor oil or any other organic product in to your roots to make sure the hair underneath stays healthy.

Dry your hair regularly

Not only should you wash your hair regularly but make sure that after washing it, you spend that extra time to dry it out completely. Make sure you spend at least an hour of your preparation time drying your hair.

If you don’t you could end up with slight molding on your hair. Not only will this smell bad, but it’s also not the best look for this holiday season.

Visit your stylist regularly

When you get a weave the first time, you might not be as careful with it or know how to take care of it as well.

This is why a regular wash and style at a professional stylist or even one every two weeks can help you out. Your hair will stay healthy and you can look your best at all your parties this season.
